Unfortunately, they’re not open to engineers without a life-science background.Mar - Apr 2025I am now focusing on companies trying to use AI in the health space, and companies in the health space but don’t necessarily use AI.May 2025I will no longer limit my search to companies in the health industry.Jun 2025Got my first offer.Jul 2025Started a role with an amazing company.Feb 2026I plan to explore volunteering in the health tech space. I spent over 6 years at my previous company at the intersection of AI and video.
During this time, in addition to other responsibilities, I worked closely with the AI team to deploy their multi-modal solutions to production. I owned the process from software design, AI inferencing, product feature development & release, and the entire feedback loop that follows.
I am now looking to work at the intersection of health and AI.
Why the health space?
- It’s something I’m very passionate. It’s a space I know I want to be in for the long haul.
- There’s a lot of work to be done here: early/improved detection, drug discovery, integrations, workflow systems, etc.
- My existing experience translates well to this space.
A few things about the developer-me
- I have an extensive C#, Python, and NodeJS background. I try to be technology-agnostic and have been writing more Go lately.
- I have a majorly startup experience and have worn several hats. I love working in roles where I can own aspects of the engineering function.
- I prefer to stay at a company for at least long enough to create an impact. So no short stints except for temporary contracts.
- I love to learn. For example, I learnt a lot about video at my previous job and even wrote a custom
ffmpegfilter in C for audio frequency visualizations. - I love servers. I managed the cloud infrastructure at every startup I worked for.
Housekeeping: availability, work preferences, etc.
A few other details:
- I’m available immediately for the right role.
- I have a higher preference for senior roles that will allow me to specialize in an area over a more generalized role, but I am open to both.
- I am based in London and do not need visa sponsorship.
- I am open to remote roles, but prefer in-office and hybrid roles.
