Decoding the Enigma
Blossom and I have been working been working on a project that involves writing implementations of a few data mining algorithms and running them against datasets.
One of the most underrated tasks in any new project is giving it a name. Naming is hard. Really hard. I've wondered how my parents even managed to come up with a name for me.
After a couple days of brainstorming, we decided on titling it: "Decoding the Enigma".
Enigma /ɪˈnɪɡmə/
something that is mysterious and seems impossible to understand completely
Data is an enigma. Else the whole field of data science would be non-existent today. So the name makes sense to me.
When I did a google search I found references to the WWII enigma machine and the enigma protocol. Totally unintended. Thankfully this is not something that required a completely original name, so it's okay. See, naming is hard!
PS: Can't wait to open source the project!
